Watchtower
Spatial Design Concept | 2024
Designed in the first year of Cibap, in response to SDG 15: Life on Land, this concept reimagines nature as a place of worship. Inspired by the architecture of temples and churches, the building centres around a living tree. Encouraging visitors to look at the value of biodiversity and our relationship with the natural world with a different view. The benches that are placed in the building are inspired by the overall shape of the building to create a cohesive look.
This section drawing shows the structure of the watchtower.
The sitting object was developed as part of the spatial experience of the Watchtower. Its form is heavily inspired by the exterior of the watchtower and traditional church benches.
Explorations of colour, material and shapes.
3D models were used to physically present the design and see what could be improved.
